Helos can hide, fixed-wings can't. It's an exponentially different NOE.

The reason the Bronco was ushered out was that is was dead meat on a stick in any kind of serious AA threat environment. And still would be—and so are all of its modern replacements.

I just checked out the paperwork for my truck, a 2015 GMC:

Oh come on now. You've imagined the shittiest possible execution of the idea and then decided that this invalidates the whole idea.

No, I don't know how much they "waste" and neither do you. They are the largest State Police organization in the country and are arguably the most professional in the execution of their duties. I do know their budget is a bit over $2 billion per year out of a total state expendature of over $160 billion. These people

My understanding is that all the officers practice on their own time and the vehicles are retired squad cars. This is part of the community outreach stuff. Many police departments have something similar, like drag nights at the local strip. It's a way of getting connected to the community outside of the cop / citizen

Of all the money our State and Federal gummint wastes, you're complaining about ... this?!

Driving with my wife one day she spotted a Jeep and in her most deep, movie-trailer voice she said, "Rubiconnnnn." Then looked at me, "Why did they name that after a Transformer?"

Actually platinum and iridium tipped plugs can go up to 100k. It's not all that unheard of these days.

Also, be super, super careful when threading the plugs into their holes - a cross-threaded head will totally ruin your day, and since most cylinder heads these days are aluminum it's very easy to to.

Also, most importantly, NEVER over tighten your spark plug when installing. That's a great way to royally screw up your engine.

Actually, DON'T do this, because antiseize can affect the tightening torque and potentially cause damage to the spark plug. It's easier to turn the plug because the threads are slipperier, but the threads don't change dimension, which means you elongate the metal shell more. This affects both the primary zone of

To me the trick is to always use a torque wrench when putting them back in. Nothing worse than stripping those delicate aluminum threads.

Occum's Razor. GM has an army of marketing people with mountains of data and advanced degrees in the subject. They probably know what they're doing.
