thats the trouble...it doesnt much help.
It's hard to jump in to the damn thing.
Depends on what you mean by "off-road." This is a crawler; good for mud making it a better choice for the north east. The Raptor is still king of the desert though, based on what I've seen.
My YJ is WAAAAAAY less aerodynamic! ...I mean, SQUARE HEADLIGHTS...C'mon!
I like the air inlet vents on the grille of the rams that help shove air over the hood instead of the through the grille when the engine doesn't need much air to keep cool at highway speeds...
How fast can you go through the slalom with the sway bars disconnected?
All these trucks are so capable and so plush these days, you can't go wrong with any of them (Chevy, Ford, or Ram). The only people that I've known to claim a major difference between them are brand-loyal fanboys. "1-ton" trucks are so capable these days you really have to push beyond practicality to exceed their…
My basic response to Best In Class claims:
Whether it's a new team cap, brand cap, or a cap you got from that conference you went to that one time—it's yours…
While RAM has done some clever things to save fuel, including the great diesel six-cylinder option, I think that this is probably a short-sighted view.

Heck, I have a 1500 that does 95% of what I ever need when working on a farm. It tows a trailer with a load of spray chemicals no problem whatsoever. Need to tow more? that's why they still have small tractors and an old grain truck that aren't used in day to day operation.
Of course a larger diesel is always the best option, but for people who only tow an RV 4-5 weekends a year, the sub par towing mileage you'll get while towing will still beat the maintenance and upkeep of a big diesel for the rest of the year.
The EcoDiesel is definitely an efficiency play, not power-focused. As you said, that helps make the truck more attractive for folks who just want a truck to drive but don't like the idea of getting MPG in the teens.
Tons of 1/2 ton tow able 5th wheels on the market nowadays. I run an RV dealership, we sell tons of 5th's to guys with 1/2 tons.
It is! I went hunting with some guys last year, typically you have to use the back seat of the crew cab for the guns. Not with the Ram! 4 guys in the truck and all the guns safely tucked away and not bouncing around in the bed.
Just traded my 2012 Ram with 45k miles in for a 2014 "Black Edition" ... It's got the Rambox, and I absolutely love it. I love the updated interior and touchscreen entertainment system too. And I don't know why, but the LED front blinkers...they make me happy. Not to mention I got a sweet deal. Window sticker was a…
