When HOA zones are well above 50%, this point comes down. When more than half the housing is under HOA, you don’t have a real freedom of choice. 

Easier said than done in Florida. Almost everything is HOA controlled there, according to my friend in Tampa. It’s nearly impossible to find a house that isn’t part of a HOA unless you live out in the boonies, and they all have essentially the same set of basic rules.

Sadly if enough people still showed up they’d just mark you as AWOL or something and dock your pay. Sitting in at the end of the production line at least doubles as a strike and guarantees any other workers who called in wouldn’t be productive either.

Absolutely. Perfect point? My now 9 year old Chevy Volt. Even now hardly anyone other than Honda offers anything like it. The 2nd Gen Volt is still the best of its kind. And yet they stopped making them.

I would argue that GM absolutely takes risks but they have historically murdered their own products before they can properly develop. GM developed a viable, promising electric car years before its competitors.

For top fuelers they don't run a quarter mile (1320 feet) any more as top speeds were getting crazy.  Now they only run 1000 feet.

It sure did. As you may already now certain programs needed a specific clock speed to run properly and the faster newer CPUs broke them.
