You’re pretty off the rails to compare the new Star Wars movies to the new Transformers movies. If the old movies introduced new force powers without justification (they did) and didn’t give us a back story on the Emperor (2 for 2) there is zero reason the new ones can’t do the same things for the sake of good story…
