Locks of loves makes wigs from donated hair to sell to cancer patients. Not like other charities which give them away to patients.

Not to be a downer, but they probably sold it. Locks of Love gets a ton of attention (branding works!), but most of their wigs go to kids with alopecia, and they end up selling a lot of the hair that gets donated. If you’re doing this (we did it when our son finally decided to cut his hair), send it to Wigs for Kids…
She’s five years cancer-free and going off to university in a couple weeks! Lots of good news. Thanks for the kind wishes!
Every time I’ve seen them do Locks of Love, they unceremoniously pull your hair into a ponytail and chop off 10 or 12 inches.
I really hope that’s the case. My daughter got one donated during her chemo for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and it was a hell of a gift (to buy one they are incredibly expensive compared to the fake hair ones). She donated it forward when her hair grew back. One of those few happy memories from that time.
That’s what I was thinking when I saw how they were handling her hair.
Aw man now I’m bummed all over again that Human Target was cancelled. And pissed that season 2 has never been made avaliable on DVD. I wants it.
