Yeah, I did a quick check in vim, and it looks like the braces do match up. I'm not sure what the problem is either. I went to the original page ("this method" link in the note at the top), copied and pasted from there, and it saved without a syntax error. This seems to be a few lines longer, though I might have

Both seem pretty useful for helping follow multiple services inside one (Google+). However, your link, and ones posted just before you, go to the Chome web store for Google+Tweet. Since it actually appears to be available for Firefox and IE as well as Chrome, it might be better to point to [crossrider.com] which

I don't, especially since it's not always obvious to me which image goes with which tip.

I completely agree — Google is leaving far too much empty space in this redesign. While a more consistent look across products is nice, I don't like how they're spreading content out so much to do it. I think they need to reconsider this and try to condense things more to reduce wasted space. I'd prefer things be a

And just like with the Calendar change, there's too much whitespace. Right now, with the Planets theme, the left side bar shows almost all the way to the bottom of my chat list. With Preview (Dense), I only see to the very top of it, the "Search, add, or invite" box — I can't see a single person in my chat list

FYI, the number of apps you get in this "hold home" list might vary with your launcher and/or device. On my Epic using GO Launcher EX, I only see 6 apps. But yes, this is a useful shortcut for swapping between recently used apps.

I was thinking this, too. Why did neither Netflix nor Hulu support the Galaxy S, reported to have sold over 10 million units, on their initial Android app launches? Is there something drastically different about this phone? I can see there being some differences, but enough to prevent such a popular device from

After seeing some of the other comments here, I realized that the article is probably talking about completely shutting off the DVR box, as in unplugging it. My test above was done after turning it off from the remote, so I guess it was still on, just in a sort of standby mode. If you unplug it to completely turn it

Well, it typically makes sense to turn off electronic devices that you're not using. Unplugging them is supposed to be even better. I thought that a DVR had to be on in order to record, so I've been leaving mine on. However, I just set up a test recording and turned it off. The box turned on to start recording.

Nice post, covering all the main points. I've heard that tea is the second most popular drink worldwide, with only water ahead of it, and as a tea drinker, it's nice to see tea getting a little more attention in what seems like a coffee-oriented culture (in the US, at least). When I had a chance to go to China on a

I'm curious as to how this stacks up against other apps, in particular the two I've used — Lookout Mobile Security and AVG's Anti-Virus Free. These both seem good, but with slightly different features. I've been getting phone and SMS spam protection from Mr. Number, which seems to work pretty well as far as I can

I'm a little surprised that TweetDeck wasn't mentioned. Maybe because it was recently purchased by Twitter, you're treating it differently now. But it's a nice client that allows you to access your Facebook, Buzz, and Foursquare accounts in addition to multiple Twitter accounts. Maybe other clients are better at

Yeah, I thought this app was on Lifehacker not too long ago, but I didn't go search out the earlier article like you did. I just posted the link I remembered on XDA and did beat you by a few minutes. But don't be too disappointed — since you have a star and I don't, your comment will probably get more visibility

This is also available for free at [forum.xda-developers.com] but you might need an account to see the download link (not sure; I'm already signed up).

Progress, but from the original post: "I can browse my queue, no stream with mod-2. Phone Model:Epic 4G". That's my phone model, so unfortunately, I'm still not going to be able to watch Netflix even with the modified version. I guess I'll have to wait until Netflix finally decides to support Samsung's Galaxy S

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. Maybe I didn't look too closely the last time I tried out imo.im. However, when I took another look today, I found out another reason to prefer eBuddy — it can be installed to the SD card. Even though it's smaller, imo.im doesn't have apps2sd support. My phone doesn't have massive

I've looked at a few Android IM clients, and one thing I didn't like about imo was that it wanted permission to start at boot. I don't use IM so much that I need an app constantly running on my phone. I'd prefer starting it when I want it, to help conserve battery power (every little bit helps with how fast

Thomas Fink and Yong Mao have done some mathematical work on tie knots — see [en.wikipedia.org] and links therein (or web search for their papers). Part of what I like about their work is that they have a very simple way of notating the tie knots. For example, as the Wikipedia article writes it, the Four in Hand is

Nice find. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work with my device — the first post over there at XDA says so, so there's no point in me personally trying it. :( I guess I'll have to wait. Hopefully this helps others though.

Good news, but the number of phones supported is *so* limited — just a few by HTC plus the Nexus phones. They really do need to work on supporting more devices; I don't think they'll get very far otherwise. Is there any available news on their roadmap for which devices will be added when? The Samsung Galaxy S line
