It’s interesting that SU&SD wasn’t super favorable of the game, but more in a retrospective way that the base game hasn’t aged well.
I sort of agree that the game isn’t going anywhere unless people involved are GoT fanatics or going to pay attention to the rules.

It’s def not the kind of game I’d break out at a party

The hottest take I suppose.

Yeah but Alpha Protocol’s core gameplay was just not very good. Versus Splinter Cell where it’s all about the gameplay mechanics (even Conviction in its own weird way).

Also there would probably be more of an emphasis on “tacti-cool Tom Clancy” spy stuff as opposed to fighting a guy on cocaine with knives. Or mute goth

I think Ubi could hit a small gold mine if they introduced light rpg elements.

Customize your face for a new Splinter Cell Agent. Get Sam as your handler styled like Lambert. Hell pick your background, maybe you’re a Voron turncoat, a fold in from the old Shadownet offshoot, or a brand spanking new 4th echelon agent.

I can’t say I’m surprised but I’m not happy that my gut instinct was right on this one.

The pre Hype build up felt a little misleading for this dlc as being more substantial than what it ended up as.

What makes me sad is that I’m pretty sure your average gamer cares more about what sexual orientation their favorite Overwatch character is.

Than hearing any news about people losing their jobs in the video game industry due to long standing industry practices even during a successful year.

Yeah she’s specifically wearing a flag of the modified version of the German Heer War Ensign 1938-1945.

So talking about Buddhist symbols or whatever is kind of irrelevant in this very specific context.

I learned from another review site. There’s an actual Part B campaign that’s a unique shortened campaign of the other character’s experience called the “second run”.

You would think such vital information wouldn’t be missing and only loosely implied in a review of the game.

Along with no mention of 4th Survivor + Tofu.

Instead of having a discussion about abandoning tank controls and fixed camera angles. The same type we had years ago when RE4 came out.

You misunderstand me. I’m not comparing RE2 remake to the original and asking if it’s the same length.

I’m wondering why RE2's remake, one is 8 hours and the other is 3 hours.

Since in RE2 original. The A and B stories were more or less the same length.

Could you elaborate on “Leon’s story took about eight hours, Claire’s was roughly three.”

That seems like a huge time discrepancy for gameplay. Especially for those who want to Claire first as their A game and Leon as their B.

Or even those who are only interesting in playing one side only.

A 3 hour campaign seems

A reminder that EA’s exclusive Star Wars licensing deal is out in 4 years.

If we’re lucky maybe we’ll see another not DICE Star Wars game trying to be AAA quality?

Does Edge of Tomorrow count as a good adaptation of All You Need is Kill?

It mean it’s not really a straight adaptation of an anime, but close enough?

I absolutely loved The Old Republic when it came out. Blazing through the Smuggler quest to endgame. Even more fun when I played a Sith Inquisitor to my friend’s Sith Warrior and we kept trying to one up each other on who can be the biggest bastard. (A lot of it was me complaining that the Warrior story made him

Who wants to bother with the trouble of hiring a surgeon with a scalpel when a construction worker with a sledgehammer works just as well right?

It’s interesting to compare it to my favorite video game writer Chris Avellone. I mean in some ways it meanders a lot ( a common theme in his written games where the villains monologue about the themes of the story). But on the other hand it’s very much a dialogue to gain an advantage where each line makes you think

“You got to have a little faith Arthur...”

I’m not sure what everyone else is talking about that the Japanese were on the “verge of surrender”. The Emperor was almost coup’d by military hardliners to “not surrender”.

And very real plans were drawn up for Operation Downfall and the invasion of the Japanese home islands. To the point where a half a million purple
