Yeah that’s one of the interesting blank points of the game. It’s absolutely clear Caesar’s going to die in the near future whether by the brain tumor or the courier’s own hand. (I’m fairly certain a cured Caesar and Legion victory is non-canon).
I have trouble classifying the Brotherhood of Steel game since it’s ultimately built on the Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance engine.

No I get it, problem is Bethesda wanted the East Coast faction in 3 to be the goodie paladins for their iconic look and this made them ultimately less interesting.

After playing around 70 hours of Fallout 4, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s not the dialog system that’s the problem. It’s Bethesda’s skill at writing that’s the problem.
Problem is the limb armor combined with the modded vault suit far outclassed the single full suits.
