All I can think of is Captain Planet eating pigeons.

This is neat and all but all I ever wanted was my Wing Commander single player campaign experience promised to me.

A single tear is shed in the waiting.
;(

I actually would have been pretty interested in some of these early versions. Wish we could have a modern offshoot now

I have to admit I don't have much patience for these kind of Anime tropes. The only one I barely made it through was I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job.

Well yeah I meant that people expected you to stop the war but you really only made it worse.

But yeah guys like CDProjeckt at least give you the option to say screw that and finish your own personal quests instead versus the wider backdrop of looming doom.

While I love Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, etc. Bioware games to death I wonder if they consciously choose the "You're the chosen one" theme for every game they do.

Goddamn it all hopes for a Jade Empire sequel have been crushed.

Survival Game Club is def my favorite this summer. All the character are really quite terrible individuals which makes it fantastic to watch. Any usual anime tropes on put on their heads by either making it outrageous, breaking the 4th wall, or plunging in head first to how completely vain and petty the main character

Well consider that the 2nd book (Mass Effect: Ascension) came out before Mass Effect 2. I think it did a pretty good job exploring the Illusive Man without breaking anything we learn from him in 2 while also continuing on plot threads from the previous book and Mass Effect 1.

My favorite video game books were the Drew Karpyshyn trilogy since he was just as important in the development of Mass Effect 1 and part of 2.

When Kei Lang showed up in 3 it was that much more of an impact due to the books.

"Hard West, just as life, blends the reality and nightmares. Nightmares feel real at first. And sometimes it's worse - sometimes they ain't dreams at all. And sometimes you never even get to know."

I love it when that one guy starts trying to trashtalk.

Dark Souls 1 man. Try to do a running jump, end up rolling off a cliff because the button is mapped to the same thing.

Now all I can think of is GI Joe done in a Jagged Alliance meets XCOM sort of way.

Why hasn't this been done?

Now I have to dig out my old joystick. Wish they could give me a new one for free.

Tapping into the time machine to talk to my 2012 incarnation eh?

I realized that Wasteland 2 was old school special when I picked up an optional quest to rescue a guy's pigs that had been taken from him by an organized militia to a corporate owned farm.

This is a game that I wish got a sequel. It still plays extremely well.

Isn't that how you win Steins;Gate?

;)
