GT4 did have that slight bonus at the beginning from a GT3 save file, only reason I remember is I borrowed my friend's GT3 Disc to do just that, then you had to buy the mitsubishi lancer or whatever from the one used car showroom... made the first few races a lot easier though, even if not much. It certainly is nice
