It's hosted in Ohio on servers in Europe? It seems that "hosting" doesn't mean what I thought it meant. Or perhaps "Ohio" doesn't mean what I thought it did? Or, "Europe"? I lived in Ohio for a couple years, and I don't remember a city named Europe...

Just a reminder to everyone. Windows 7 came out in the summer of 2009, so when I say six year old computers, I mean computers from 2003.

It depends on what you're doing. The folks behind Nethack recompiled their linux/unix code to get the terminal version of Nethack for OS X Lion to work. I don't want to knock you; I agree fully with your sentiment. However, I'm not sure what you meant when you said "OSX is as close to a truly supported Unix experience as you're going to get."

I realize that at least part of your comment was in jest, but apple makes the world's best general-purpose pointing devices hands down. Some task could benefit from the addition of a high precision pointing device like some top-end trackballs, but for day to day use, nothing beats an apple trackpad.
