And yet, companies like FX and AMC seem to be unable to fail even though their budgets are much smaller than companies like ABC and NBC. I remember when Showtime and HBO were winning awards with their television programming and the big three were making crap. Everyone said that it was because of "the censors" and that…
He's still an Apple employee. (Only technically though; he has an employee number and a badge and can go to any of the non-restricted areas on campus any time he wants. Of course, this is only what I have heard; I could be wrong. As Steve is a reader of Gizmodo, please correct me if I'm wrong. Also: Hi Woz!)
Open textbooks are still a very new thing. Give it a little time. Let the english dept. have a little time with the text now that the science folks are done with it. Also, there are several different sources for open textbooks.
Actually, that was my point. The only "student centered" hardware Apple ever had was really nothing to write home about and never sold well. Also, I doubt any significant additional student discounts. I imagine that it's going to be just an announcement regarding ebook textbooks.
The textbook industry is currently broken. There has been plenty written on this subject if you want to track down some of the research on the subject. While you're at it, check out the work that's been done on "open textbooks." Standard college textbooks shouldn't cost more than around $20.

In my defense, they do define battery life, maximum thickness, and maximum weight which would go a long way in describing what the machine looks like. SSD is only listed as optional in the…
In Clackamas Oregon in fact, just about 50 miles from my house.
Nice. Of course, "Centrino" was just cpu, chipset, and wireless and not the whole package, but I'm glad someone remembers the Centrino.
Every time I see posts like this, I have to ask myself: why do people who don't have a clue what they are talking about post posts that show that they don't have a clue what they are talking about?
You know they're high class, 'cause their site's made with flash...
Just out of curiosity, can you tell us who it belonged to?
This is certainly not the first of it's kind.
Exactly right. While I'm waiting in the security line, everything I own is being stuffed into my laptop bag.
