Actually, my first playthrough of Dead Space was on Hard with only the Plasma Cutter. Actually, I think sticking with the Cutter only gives you enough major advantages (getting ammo for it way more often, having more money to spend, only having one gun to upgrade) that it actually makes a playthrough easier in most

To be honest, I don't think they were going for survival horror. They wanted, and delivered, action horror. That's what sells, I guess.

Part of me does, but I can't blame someone for liking something that's different. I CAN blame them for doing anything like that in public or posting nasty things where it doesn't belong, but I see no reason to hate someone for having a strange fetish and enjoying it on www.strangefetishIhave.ru or Rule34 or whatever.

Loved this one back when I saw it.

Maybe one day I'll do a survival horror game. I'll just hope to God there's some real talent in the programming team for that one. But yeah, as the page-long reply I made to another commenter below would suggest, I'm kind of full of ideas that would really benefit the survival horror genre. :)

I submit that they are good action games and they have the atmosphere and mechanics in place to work.

I feel like having a sort of Dark Souls-esque multiplayer component would really add to the tension and randomness of it. I often saw things running around in DS, only to realize a moment later they were ghosts of other players running around. What if some actions could break through to other players' games, or

My first playthrough was on Hard with only the plasma cutter and I made it through just fine. I don't know about everyone else but if the point was that I wasn't too powerful, they communicated it poorly.

I beg to differ. I played through with only the plasma cutter my first time through. On Hard. I had no trouble and it was never scary.

The best part of Dead Space was up until you got a weapon. Immediately at that point it became an action game and here we are, another game and a few spinoffs later, and it's just going more and more towards the action game route.

It never was very scary and it probably isn't moving anywhere but away from that. The people complaining are the ones who WANT this to be a horror game, but they know just as well it never was and never will be.

Given your argument, the reason the Wii isn't on here is because it doesn't have the same level of graphics as the PS3/360 and doesn't cost $350?

All subjective, of course. But the DS is my pick for best gaming device, period. All consoles have had quite a few worthy games on them, and I'll admit the PC is a huge contender, but the DS has such a great number of really well-designed games that strip away flashy graphics and cinematics and leave in its place

DS.

I'm the opposite.

Well, I guess you have to get started somehow. Huge projects can be really difficult to fund development for, and even those "simplistic" 2D games can be surprisingly demanding in that aspect. I've personally found that it's a really good idea to get a simplistic game or two under your belt before tackling the major

Man, this is really just BEGGING for Wii motion controls. Of course, the Wii could never handle the graphical effects they're doing here (though Wii U probably could), but this would work so perfectly with controls like they had in Elebits. That's one thing that motion control can do quite well that few developers

I never minded his voice or the explanations. They're correct to explain even the simple things so everyone is on the same page. You'd be surprised how easily people can get definitions mixed up and thus get the wrong message, and it's still just generally a good idea to define important terms before moving on in a

Holy shit, give this man money.

Every word that came out of that man's mouth was defamation of character on himself.
