They switch the characters around pretty regularly in gears 3. The main 2 characters are Marcus and Dom both males BUT!!! Anya and Sam are in the game for a pretty good length of time. Hell the opening cinematic is pretty much Anya and SPOILERS!!! they are both present in the end.

Thats easy for me. Look at Gears of War 3, both of those females are fairly strong and arent completely rediculous besides the fact that the women can look at the dudes. I mean both Gears 1 and 3 were both written by a woman. But as a male I wouldnt know that much.
