I’m not sure where I read this — probably the Tipping Point or some other Malcom Gladwell — but I think Elmo and the new Elmo’s World section of Sesame Street was the product of CTW doing actual research on how to connect with children. I assume that he resonates more with children than Grover ever did which may have

I’m certainly curious. While my initial thought was graft, but the truth may be that on this show VFX houses were actually billing/charging what they should be and not bending over backwards.

But on the other hand $25m PER EPISODE?! Maybe Megan Thee Stallion was a pricier cameo than realized. Or crafty for an 8 foot

How in the hell did they manage to spend $25M per 30-38 minute episode? I get CGI isn’t cheap but it’s not like it was non-stop major action CGI fights. The fact that it cost more than GoT episodes that are 50-80 minutes and require extensive historical sets, wardrobes for entire simulated villages/cities and were

Departing Seniors was also the name for the never-existent Logan’s Run sequel.

i feel so bad for her. people are going to huge assholes towards her for no reason. i hope whoever runs her socials over the next few years gets paid extra.

I remember last year, when Elon (temporarily) banned a bunch of big left-wing accounts, he attempted to retroactively justify those bans by arguing that they shared his private information (his flight logs) or violated some obscure, never-enforced rule from Twitter’s TOS.

Regarding Liz’s post, it’s absolutely tongue in cheek. Their podcast is left wing and the name is a parody of QAnon.

I knew we were in trouble when he made that Barbie-boobies joke. It was pretty clear he didn’t have the zeitgeist on the movies up for awards.

Sounds like it’ll be easier for someone to forget it’s there and accidentally damage it.

Well, looks like we’re not waking up from this collective nightmare anytime soon. Google has become almost functionally useless due the proliferation of Ai crap clogging up the search results. I fail to see how “Google but even MORE Ai” is going to fix that....

I think Quantumania’s downfall was its overreliance on CGI. There was no real character development for anyone other than Kang, and even that was a small piece of the film.

OK. Neat, I guess.

You’re going to see a lot of people realizing they slept on this. It wasn’t perfect but it was still a ton of fun.

...at least some people who missed out on the film this past summer will now get a chance to check it out from the comfort of their own homes.

Honestly, I kind of wish they’d release a generally longer cut of the movie. The one in theatres was self evidently cut to the bone, and a 10-15 minute longer cut that’s still shorter than most of the other Marvel movies would garner a bunch of buzz for the release.

That didn’t hurt franchises such as Alien and Terminator. They just should have played up the fun in the promotions a la Ragnorok and Guardians. When i recced it to people who were on the fence i emphaised the fun parts and told them not to worry if they didn’t see all of the shows. The “info dump” intro was part of

agreed, I thought it was a fun film and worth a watch. I do think it could have used a few more minutes in a couple places to just have a quiet moment to let events sink in but overall I really liked it and I think part of why it failed was that they banked too heavily on the captain marvel momentum from the first
