Agreed. I’m a lawyer and I would say YES they did.

Exactly. They could have chartered a plane for the 4 employees for a whale of a lot less than this lawsuit will cost them.
I don’t blame the 4 employees that United attempted to add to the flight. I’m willing to bet that they were being forced to staff a plane in Louisville due to other flight delays or something like that and they had no choice in the matter. This seems to be the unintended but inevitable result of shitty corporate…
If only there were some way to keep airlines from selling more seats than are physically available in a plane.
So if I’m to understand this, this guy already paid for a ticket and was seated, but the airline wanted to give his seat to an employee??? How is this possibly the procedure???
#2 is why I dread going to movies. I would rather have CC than those fuckers for sure.
I suspect they mean that without any kind of pre-arrangement, ANY large group is going to be difficult to accommodate (seating together, for example), but moreso if the group have a particular need (such as available Wheelchair spaces, or CC devices, etc), because these things take time to organise. I assume the…
I’m a film projectionist and it’s not as easy as turning the closed captions on. Films come on drives now, and they are unlocked with digital “keys.” The keys unlock all the different versions on the film (2D, 3D, 5.1, 7.1 etc) These keys come from the distributors, and unless they are provided and then installed,…
As an Asian person I would like to say how frustrating it can be to tell people, yes we experience racism. And they’ll be like well you guys are so smart! And you’ll be fine.
I am upset also. Not only did they recast Mowgli as a girl, they recast all the wolves as monkeys. I hate this reboot.
This is a beta-test for Ivanka’s national child-care program
I just had a pap test come back positive for one of the “unspecified” strains of HPV. The best part is that I haven’t had sex in four years. I wish I could have been vaccinated. When I was of the appropriate age, it was still brand new, and the FIRST of the three shots cost me $1200. WITH insurance. My poor…
We already use “they/them” as a singular sometimes, when you don’t know the gender of a person you’re talking about. Like, “We don’t currently have a department head, but once that person is hired, you’ll be reporting to them.” or “Turn in the form to your teacher. Then they’ll give it to the principal.”
I don’t want to be contradictory or accusatory (so please don’t interpret my comment this way!), but the use of singular “they” has been a convention used within the English language since the mid-1700s.
I read it the same way. I’m struggling to even see an alternative meaning.
Well, that’s because it’s a pro-woman quote. It’s calling out the outrageous beauty standards to which women are held, which was affected by both Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce becoming major stars.
See I read that as the unreasonable standard that men are looking for in women. That of course doesn’t make my interpretation right, but that’s how I read it.
Yeah! Great point! There would have been NO difference for POC between a McCain/Palin administration and the one we got! Thanks for fuckin’ NOTHIN’, Tina!
Yeah! Great point!
No, passing on a double yellow is being an asshole. Swerving to intimidate and kill is [attempted (edit)] murder. Asshole is much lower on the scale.
