Biggest buyers of convertibles in the world? The UK. Where you get to drive with the roof down for about five days a year.

He looks about 40. WTF?
Australia has lots of competition for other sports (Rugby League, AFL etc.), so does Ireland, (England not so much, rugby/football is a cultural rather than physical split), so the argument that “rugby countries” only do well because that’s all they play, doesn’t really hold water.
Jesus its only a packet of sauce. It probably tastes like crap anyway, but of course no-one’s actually going to taste it, because they’re all there for the free shit they can sell on later. I care zero fucks for these people, zero fucks.
None of which matters in the slightest. This model has one job; avoiding city congestion charges and looming city diesel bans in Europe. Its a mid-life stop gap because Europeans are already turning away from diesel because they know the market is going to collapse.
You’re missing out on your Alex Garland intake; Ex Machina, Dredd and Sunshine should all be on the list. Looper, which a pile of utter garbage, should not (“worst time-travel movie ever”). Dune was visually interesting but really not good.
The vast majority of Americans could use an EV to comfortably do most of their journeys, the majority of people (other than professional drivers) do less than 30 miles a day. In Europe its less. You shouldn’t build a model around edge cases.
They do build a wagon. They just don’t let you have it.
The numbers trump opinion.
Except by every empirical measure going, they’re not the worst in Europe and are actually just about the best. Only Scandinavians are safer (with much lower traffic density) and then not by much. The people who tend to criticise British drivers and roads most are...the British. Go and live in Ireland, or Spain, or…
Nope. Tata got it as part of the JLR acquisition; BMW had already sold it to Ford. Its why Chinese built Rover 75s were called “Roewe”.
We’re not talking about Atlanta, we’re talking about the developed world with higher standards. And Uber is failing to meet them. Crying “we’re innovative so we don’t need to worry about regulations” is a load of shite.
Wyoming? I’m not an American, but isn’t Wyoming...empty? Is this some kind of property development scam?
This. A thousand times this. What possesses someone to take a terrible car and rebody it with a really terrible car? I just don’t get it.
Thinking back to the time (god I’m old), Nastase wasn’t given the Mr. Nasty treatment by the British press in the way that McEnroe was, and Jimmy Connors was actually very popular. Now McEnroe is a something of a national treasure in the UK (I know, we do like to adopt).
I’m sure it will be hugely popular in China and the US, but in Europe...nope. Looks like an overdesigned Korean taxi.
The 6GC is better looking than the 2 door. I have absolutely no problem with BMW building a Panamera rival. They’ve obviously done the numbers and found the market for these “4-door coupes” (please shut up, I don’t care) is more upmarket than the previous 6/A7/CLS generation, because Mercedes are going upmarket with…
I’m sure all the Indian actors, Filipino, Arab, Israeli, Persian, Mongol, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese actors will be thrilled to know that “any old Asian will do” so long as they’re not white. I’m not sure how those Russian actors will feel about it, being both white and Asian. Its a conundrum and no mistake.
