Getting around 34mpg hwy, and 28mpg daily use in a modded Fiesta (wider wheels, 3dcarbon body kit, exhaust and k&n drop in filter) so the Fiesta ST's aren't unbelievable, but considering the EPA estimates for the regular Fiesta and the actual numbers kinda worries me.

I'm pretty sure the first thing I ever fixed on my own car was swapping the rear shocks on a Mk3 Supra. I guess I was much dumber then because I wasn't afraid of the spring compressors.
