I guess NYC is kind of special. Also they're probably comitting the kind of robbery that's not going to make them end up in jail (there's a bit of truth in the "psychopaths" line). In my case, half the guys who've mugged me sported golden Jesus chains.

I don't know, I'd like to see your birth certificate. And I'll say it's a fake if I do anyway

You're absolutely right, I walked right into it.

I do take every chance I get to explain people how they have no idea what they're talking about when they talk about atheists or about their own religion, but I realize I come up as a dork. It's just impulsive, I can't help but tell someone when they keep contradicting themselves

I think religious people keep mixing us up. They say "ve believe in nothing" and I have to stop and explain that that's nihilists

self-professed atheists are by and large more educated and wealthier than the general population

I have never found a reigious person who doesn't reason effectively

That depends. What color are those particular gay feminist atheists?

I don't know, if you had mainstream politicians/mediapersons who publicly said women/non-whites can't run for any public office because they are evil and can't be trusted, I wouldn't be comfortable with anyone shutting up about it.

But... were you born in Kenya?

I have mixed feeligs about this. On one hand, I think everyone's beliefs should be private. On the other hand, I read things like this and think about those people who wanted atheists to "come out" and even came out with the name "brights", all in imitation of gays, may have a point, because of things like this.

There are stats that show atheists are extremely less likely to end up in jail than believers. I don't believe being an atheist makes you less likely to end up in jail, just that the social and environmental factors that make you have a chance to be an atheist stack the odds in your favor. But people should know this:

Those sound funnier in Spanish. It's like "NanoWhorians"

I am so glad to hear I am people too!

I don't remember the exact numbers but they had enough audience for the pilot and are at about 80% of what's needed to keep it on air, so they better start developing the story to get people hooked (I'm not sure how that's possible, but I'm not a writer)

Yeah, but FX are expensive, and the show NEEDS a certain number of millions, and it seems to be falling a bit short of them

So... is it just me or doest Mira looks a lot like The Wire's Omar? It seems like she does the same expressions

Yeah, the short version for non-scientists is: when a scientists is not sure whether something it's true or not, it's a hypothesis. When they call it a theory it's time to stfu about it possibly not being right, it can be incomplete or fail in some very particular cases, but it stands up for 99.99% of the cases.

Yeah, sorry, I get lost with the fine distinctions of English language. I guess it's more like "der Führer" than "Pepe" or "Sparky"

I haven't played Deus Ex, but the original speaker certainly knows that's what happens, as all the rest of the article is pretty much saying that's what's going to happen with everything else, and then suddenly, for this particular point he seems to think the opposite. That's wishful thinking IMO.
