Should more than 15% of any generation really want to be a CEO of a large corporation? That strikes me as saying nothing about the general ambitiousness of a generation. I wouldn't want that job, but I would like to make partner in my law firm. Not as ambitious as CEO, but still not a slacker position.

Then maybe allow posts like this to help draw attention to the broader issues at hand. Instead of saying something like "that's dumb, these guys do way worse", try something like "hey, this is a good example of the sort of attitude/behavior that is problematic in American academia; check out these other crazy
