For me honestly...Iron Man 2. Never saw it in the theaters, never heard a good thing about it, but when I finally watched it, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Didn't top the first one, but WAY better than what anyone had led me to believe about it.

I decided to watch this while on a flight a few years ago. I was barely awake and my neck was killing me and I just wanted something to distract me from all of that. Expected an empty, weak action flick with fancy stunts (maybe). I ended up with a story by JM Straczynski, performances by Naomie Harris, Ben Miles,

From the opening screen to the final battle - epic. Acting was way off in too many ways, but, boy, did it still deliver. Matrix would have been a lot cooler (if possible) if this hadn't come out before. Although my late teen age at the time played an important role on my perception.

I had heard that Streets of Fire was an 80s-meets-the-50s type of flick that influenced Bubblegum Crisis and other 80s anime. I had no idea it was a crazy semi-musical with songs by the guy who writes for Meatloaf and Willem Dafoe as an S&M greaser doing things with his face that aren't legal in some states. If I

Way, WAY better than it had any call being.

I had no interest in this movie, whatsoever. I came home from school one night and my daughter was watching it on DVD. After a few minutes, I made her restart it from the beginning, and I fell in love with it. Yeah, it's cheesy, predictable, blah blah blah, but it was so much better than I ever expected it to be.

Good choice at the top. Here is mine:

I was really ready to hate this. I was calling Odin, 'that one-eyed Santa' When I finally got round to seeing it I was surprised to find a genuinely funny romantic-comedy/coming of age story with some decent action, despite looking quite low budget and being the lightest of the Marvel films. Hell I still prefer it to

Expect dumb stupid crap based on a boaedgame, for crying out loud,

I went to this one because my gf wanted to go. I figured, fine, whatever. Holy crap! I was blown away. Easy one of the best movies I saw that year.

Am I allowed to say this?

All of this.

Believe it or not, I had to be forced to watch Fight Club.

Was not expecting much from this. Never read the comic...now its one of my favorites.

Went to see Office Space with a bunch of friends. It was sold out. So, we bought tickets to a movie that I had heard nothing about. No trailer, no word of mouth, no reviews. I had no expectations. It ended up being one of my favorite movies to date. Anytime this is on TV, I stop and watch.

This right here. I watched the original as a little kid, got my hands on a bootleg VHS, watched that until it was worn out. When I heard they were going to make a sequel to a movie practically no one remembered, I was really, really skeptical. You know what? The movie really worked. Perhaps it wasn't the most

I really, really liked Kick-Ass, even though Mark Millar holds no strings on my heart. And you know what, I heard bad reviews for Kick-Ass 2, and I loved that too.

Napolean Dynamite!

Don't get me wrong, it was still a bad movie. It just wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is one of my favorite films, second only to Lord of the Rings. It's just so...insanely awesome/awesomely insane.
