Except diesel tanks have safety vents, also. They open at about 7 psi OR 180 degrees F, depending on design. I’ve tested 150 gallon tanks by putting them on a BBQ pit, full of fuel and enveloping them in flames. It takes about 2 hand extinguishers to put the flames out after the vent has been open several minutes.
