Curtain airbags are still relegated to the upper classes of cars. And I’ve seen some which had stickers/markers on the roof, but actually no airbags inside!
But basically everything in the sub-20K-Euro-category, which is a large part of the market, has none of those. Maybe side airbags in the seats, but even those are

Five normally sized people with an average weight of 75kg. That’s about the european norm, don’t know what kind of XXXL persons you are talking about ^^
JK, my brother-in-law is about 6,8ft and really struggles in a lot of “normal” sized cars. When he sits in a Daihatsu Copen, his head is fully above the windshield,

Yeah, well everybody knew that it would took them “some” years until the ships would be in-game, but feature-creep (which was mostly the fault of the backers wanting more of everything, and throwing more money at it to make it happen) meant that the design of the actual ships got pushed back, and the gameloops to

I agree in some part. Though we as the backers are also to blame, they asked if we wanted more and told us that the game would take longer then, and the vocal majority was always crying: MORE, MORE, MORE!
The original pitch was for a much smaller game, instanced playerbase with 32-64 players per instance (like E:D,

They are actually updating the flight model again. Some people are very vocal against it, but they want to make it more diverse between fight or flight - i.e. you can go full speed, but not with powered-up weapons or shields. If you want to go head to head, you are limited speed-wise to get full agility out of your

not really. Look at the latest trailers for Squadron 42 (the singleplayer-standalone game that has evolved from the single campaign thing), they look quite nice even still. And hey, it’s a possibility to see some actors in motion that have since passed in the real world.
It is now apparently “feature complete”. The

What is wrong with 0-60 of 12.3 seconds for a minivan designed to haul people in urban areas? The “dustbuster vans” were not underpowered, their styling was great for the time, the build quality could’ve been better - but as far as I remember the fuel efficiency was halfway decent.

But then again, at the time these

Live rear axles? Ah, you mean the RWD cars. Yeah, they did wonders with the 850 in that regard, with the delta-link rear axle with links that compress under load to give som degrees of rear wheel steering (works really well!).
As for side airbags, they introduced them in MY 95 (so from mid-94 on) as standard, the first

Now playing

To my knowledge, a driver airbag came as standard in the 700-range of Volvos, ABS was standard from 1984 onward. Again, with the side airbags as a non-optional extra, they were first with the 850 and 900 series.
I never had a problem with disintegrating wire looms, even on 200 series Volvos. The 200s rust quite a bit,

Not really true, Volvo was and still is ahead in many ways. Mercedes was quick to adopt the 3-point seat belts (invented by Volvo), and the S-Class was the first car to sport an airbag as standard - but it took more than ten years for this to trickle down into the smaller segments (E and C class).
Volvo again was the

Err, what exactly did they crash there?
The MG5 we got here in Europe is an estate only, the MG4 is the sedan, unless I am missing something here.
The stuff with the added assistant shenanigans and ever growing number of airbags is only made to keep one step ahead of chinese manufacturers - whose vehicles would

I have a 850 and C70 outside, both with nearly or more than 300.000km on the clock.
My MX5 NA had 290.000km when a part of the power steering failed that was so hard to get that it was worth more than the rest of the car.
The VW T4 outside is still going strong at 450.000km.

I’d rather say most cars can go that far

Used Tesla prices have already tanked in Germany. Where not too long ago, you would pay 30-35.000€ for a used Model S with higher mileage, you can now again get one for 20-25.000€.
This will go down further in the coming years, because this year the last ones with free supercharging are going out of warranty on their

normally I’d somewhat agree with you, but especially with Destiny, all they would have had to do would be create a new main menu that allows pannind side-to-side to fit more icons. Or allow to access the old content from the other menus als “legacy missions” or something like that.
But deleting it? Come on! They did

The red war itself as a campaign was rather mediocre, yes. But the very first mission arc, with all its implications for the player character, leading up to your arrival at the farm was pure gold.
Also, it was nice because it was about things actually happening to us as the player, not to other characters for pure

Destiny 2 should never have killed its old material. The introduction to the game through the beginning of the red war was spot on, one of the best, if not THE best moment in the game altogether to this day. The combination of the music, the gameplay, the visuals - it was true art.
Sadly, art doesn’t count at Bungie.

So what? The windshield for a first generation Volvo C70 is unobtainium. Almost never able to buy one and when they find a factory replacement (only sold through Volvo, iirc none were made by aftermarket parties) it costs 1000€ without installation.
Same for the rear windows of the Volvo 850 btw, can’t get those of the

having a non-original windshield might lower its value though, since iirc even the windshield on the F1 was very thin to save on weight.

Hope none of them resides in Germany, that would be an instant TÜV failure - you won’t get a certificate of roadworthiness with a crack in your windshield - or a chip in the drivers

to me, the biggest problem here is that they limited availability to the US/CAN. The rest of the world gets shafted, and can only buy the “boring” version.

Hate to say it, but this is frankly a “bleep”hole move.

yep, with the Miata the shifter sits basically directly atop the gearbox. Doesn’t get any better than that ^^
And yes, the 996 is not bad - but for feedback of a cable-actuated shifter, try a Volvo 850 or first generation C/S/V70 where the rubber shifter bushings on top of the gearbox have been replaced by solid brass
