Does caffeine really affect you? I mean really? Most people here drink 2 cups for breakfast, 2 in the afternoon, and if you work in an office... don’t start to count.
Decaf is always a solution though.

Thats true, even though I regularly do weekend shifts in the garden and walk a lot, I am by no means slim or look “fit”. I can work physically for hours (even though I am by trade a desk pusher), but I recognize that without putting in hours in the Gym I will not look that way.
That is the one thing that should be made…
I am using Steam, Gog, Epic, DOS, old Windows and a lot of emulated games on the Steam Deck no problem. Game Pass is a dud, which is a bummer, but that’s the only thing I miss.
Even Star Citizen runs on the Steam Deck. Somehow. Not great, but it does.
For Epic and GoG get the Heroic Launcher. Perfect integration, even…
The Ally has a more powerful processor, yet at the same time has to push more pixels - 2 times as much. Valve knew what they were doing with the resolution of the device, they kept it at that so that it wouldn’t create constraints on the shared memory (more screen size = more memory needed) and so that the…
What do you perceive as “overcorrection” though?
Yes, I agree that not every fitness app has to sound the alarm when you are slightly above the “correct” BMI for your gender and age. After all, you could be working out a lot, and muscles are heavier than fat after all, so you automatically weigh more. Though then…
I guess residents of UK and Ireland are currently weeping when looking at our postings. I remember a meetup of Volvo 850/V70 users, one came with his V70R from Ireland. When he told us what his anually insurance premium was for that car, we felt the pain with him.
It’s the other way around here. The longer you drive without any self-inflicted incident, the lower your rates go. Also, if you don’t change the car, i.e. if you drive a car by yourself for a long time, you also get lower rates than somebody who would buy the same car (model year, engine etc) used and have the same…
Germany. It was a long time ago, when insurers were thinking about how they could make the most out of the insurance premiums. Of course, back then you actually had a choice of colors, not just two shades of grey, black, white and maybe a hint of blue.
Some people got mad when they found out they should pay more just…
maybe - probably - could be. Thing is, the number of Teslas with stickers like “sorry, I bought it before he started to act like that” is rising. I’ve not really seen that kind of “buyers remorse” with another car company - yet again, there’s barely anothe volume automaker that is so much associated with just one…
What that graph fails to portray though is that their market share during these times has constantly shrunk.
Yes, they sold more cars in absolute numbers, but their market share of all EVs sold worldwide has shrunk by 5% from Q1 2021 to and is now at less than 12%
The US market is a bit skewed here, since that is where…
The used market shows a sharp decline though. Previously, even very high km used Model S were sold here for 30.000+ Euros (with up to 500.000km on the clock). Four years back, similar cars cost 10.000€ less used.
Now they are on a downward spiral price-wise again. It startet about at the time when Musk bought Twitter.…
So people who have to work late shifts and have to get home afterwards cannot use Tesla insurance. Got it.
Years ago, insurers were making people with cars with certain colors pay more, because p.ex. red cars were involved more often in accidents, therefore people driving them had to pay more. That was struck down by…
New ones had wait times of more than half a year at that time. The people who sold these basically applied for a new car as soon as they had the confirmation that their previous car was delivered, they had to hold them for 6 months iirc, then could flip them. Some were even sold over list price, just because people…
Over in Europe, new purchases of EVs were heavily subsidized. A lot of people bought Teslas, got the cashback from the state, and then sold on the cars for slightly under MSRP, netting several thousand Euros per purchase. They were eligible for a new rebate every 6 months. But now, the rebates are gone and the cars…
The Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim actually had a Vector W8 on display for a looong time (with a UK registration on it back then, it was a loaner like most cars there). I like it a lot, because they often show used cars, cars that have really been used and not restored, and put them in a historical context. Also, they…
I like your picture of the SAAB museum from Trollhättan. That one is really special, because there are lots of cars exhibited there that are one of a kind. Test mules, showcars etc... and all are parked close to each other with ZERO boundaries to keep people away. Yes, there’s the usual “do-not-touch”-rule, but what…
Not having plumbing is no reason for throwing your trashbag full of poop into bushes.
Not having a trash collector is no reason to just throw it on the ground.
A composting toilet costs next to nothing to build yourself, and if you don’t have one in your van, where you might stay for a longer time, then you planned your…
It is always the same: A spot is found, some idiot puts it into an online-app, it gets recommendations, then a few months later you read “nice spot, but a bit crowded”, a few more months later “usually busy, lots of dirt and junk”, and then after a year “closed off by authorities, frequent visits by law enforcement,…
Cryptomining often even had the cards run at lower voltages so that they would keep boost speeds more consistently.
What is a problem though is overworked, overheated cards - doesn’t matter where they’ve been used, a lot of cards seem to die prematurely because the soldering is not that good anymore and contacts are…
HOW is this a BUDGET graphics card?
BUDGET card would be priced at below 400€, more like 300€. Including VAT.
Even the 3070 blew that at 499€ at launch, and you couldn’t buy it for that price anyway, was all bought up by miners and scalpers because Nvidia just didn’t care.
All of those limited Gundam cards being abused…
