@flyingstitch: I disagree that the speeding was that extreme. There's a reasonable expectation that the road is going to be relatively clear at 2:30 am. If he'd done this at noon...Yeah...that's f'n reckless.

@Saboth: Spoken like a drunk driver.

@Adam Spano: What don't you understand? If the kids were drunk, my sympathies would be the same, whether the speeder was an officer or a civilian.

@makopolo: You can predict and see with absolute certainty that it made absolutely no difference that the kids were drunk. That's clairvoiance.

@Adam Spano: The DA would be responsible for proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the accident was entirely the fault of the officer. To do so, the DA will have to get past the Defense dragging the teenagers through the mud for drinking and driving. If the defense Attorney FAILED to use that in his defense, the

@SagarikaLumos: The bottom line is that if this went to trial, any good defense attorney is going to argue the same point I'm argueing. Likely, there will be one of 12 people like me, and it will result in acquittal.

@makopolo: You're clairvoyant now?

@Adam Spano: I don't think he deserves to get anything more than he did. He's no longer a police officer. He's a guy that made a horrible mistake, drunk kids or not.

@SagarikaLumos: I refuse to get caught up in another emotional debate...Here's my stance:-The cops actions were not malicious. He made a very stupid mistake. I don't agree with punishing someone for the rest of their lives for a mistake, no matter how tragic.-Drunk driving is ALWAYS malicious so I have almost zero

@makopolo: These cops should be convicted due to your completely irrelevent past experience? The cop made a simple mistake...He was showboating at 2 am when he wrongfully assumed nobody would get hurt since traffice was so light. He had an ACCIDENT with a DRUNK TEEN. That isn't murder in any sense of the word.

The officer involved got exactly what was coming to him and nothing more. I'm glad he's not getting any jail time and won't be convicted of a felony, so at least he can rebuild his life. I'm sure he feels guilty for what happened, but let's face it...The teens were drunk and out at 2 am. Two wrongs and all that.

@Joe-Btfsplk: I didn't debate that fact. I agree about the price, but the statement about limited range was completely wrong.

David is ignorant and Chevy should slap him down for speaking untrue words. No moron, the car will travel more than 40 miles with ease. 40 miles is the electric only range, at which point the ICE engine kicks in the charge the battery like a locomotive.

@55Hardtop: You're assuming they would even bother to track the drop.

If two men could make a baby together, those two men would produce a family portrait that looks EXACTLY like that picture. BTW has anyone noticed how unnaturally large JT's hands are? Maybe it's just the picture, but it doesn't even look like he needed a mallet in the "whack'o'mole" commercial.

$5K absolute max. That car is awesome, but it's no $12K car.

I love his soft hands....wait...what?

It's like a weird mix of Chrysler, Buick, Saturn, Mercedes, and...of all things...Hyundai.

I dunno...I think the Hot Wheels sticker puts it over the top for me.
