The reason you cant access the Play Store is because... this thing isnt about playing mobile games. Its made to play Ouya games. Being mad the play store isnt there is like getting uppity that you cant play XBox Live Arcade on your PS3 using your Wiimote.

There are some games that people just ported from phones. Every console ever launches with at least a couple ports. But there's some pretty fun games games out for it. Also, this runs android as an OS. It does not run "Android games" like you find on your phone. It runs games specfically designed for the console.

Every console is a developer kit, and theres some guidelines you have to follow to get added to their store (title safe borders, for example). Im told porting an already finished app isnt very complicated.

It does not have access to the play store. Much like the Kindle tablets only having the Amazon Appstore, Ouya only has the Ouya store. the interface looks nothing like Android usually does. its its own interface. There are a number of emulators available though. PSOne, SNES, NES, 2600, N64, etc etc.

I got mine weeks ago, and it didnt have any glitches in it. I've been really happy with Ouya, and theres some really fun games on the store now. I feel bad for the people who don't have their console yet but i do recommend the thing to anyone who likes quirky indie games and wants something that runs XBMC for media.
