I'm sure that is what he did, she was complaining that he didn't do it when she declined it.

There was a lady come to my family mechanic 2 or 3 years after she had him work on something on her car to complain. While he was working on the car, he told her about something that needed to be done but she didn't believe him and didn't have it done. After all these years, it had finally catastrophically failed and

My scariest driving story has to be when I was driving in my brother's '87 190D back up from Florida on I-75 after my grandmother's funeral. He had bought the car in January and it wasn't on the road until about April because the transmission had to be replaced. The car had over 312,000 miles on it at that point, and

They aren't really that heavy. The 230CE was 2954lbs, so I would guess the 300CE was somewhere around 3100lbs or maybe 3200lbs.

Also important to know is that the 4.2 was from the M116 family which began production in 1969.

The turning radii of those old Benz are simply amazing. I daily a previous gen S-Class, a beautiful Oriental Red W116 300SD, and its turning circle is just so surprising for it's size. The W201 is also surprising at it turns even tighter than you expect for even a car so small.

By 1989, Mercedes had started producing the M119, of which the 4.2L DOHC 32V made 275HP. It was used in the W140 400SE/400SEL/S 420 which began life in 1991. So if you want to compare the LS400 and Q45 to a car of the same year, compare it to the W140 instead of the W126 so you are comparing the same generation of car.

I have two w116s, both 300sd, one project and one for parts. My project car sits just as this one does, a little low in the rear, but my parts car is level and high in both the front and rear. I believe it should be level, and like mine, it may be down to the rear suspension needing some attention.

Those trailers weigh around 2200lbs. I have used them to do similarly hard tasks too many times.

I failed my first driving test in the road test part after doing well on the parking lot part. I was driving my brother's 1987 190D which had bad brakes because the master cylinder was shot. In the parking lot, I got points off for not stopping quick enough in the quick stop, but failed the road test when I overshot a

Diesel cars in general, for sure, but one even prevelant on Jalopnik is that assumption that all old Mercedes diesels are smoke belchers. A properly tuned OM617 does not smoke at all. How do I know? My 1980 300SD doesn't smoke except on startup in cold weather, as any diesel would do. Most that smoke have misadjusted

Wrap around taillights and chrome bar look very traditional Mercedes to me:

I believe both engines are vastly underrated. The 5.5L TT V8 in S63 is supposedly actually around 630hp, and I would assume that the V12 is similarly underrated.

Yes, considering the 5.5L TT V8 in the S63/E63/CLS63 is rated at 585hp but is actually believed to be around 630hp or so, I would imagine that the V12 is similarly underrated.

I haven't driven a P71, but my dad has a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis that we inherited from our grandmother's estate. Looks a little different (not as nice looking imo), but is close enough that people can't tell the difference. What works really well is if your are behind someone going slower than you in the fast lane

My uncle bought one of these new in 2007, got scared of the depreciation and sold it to buy a 2009 Shelby GT500 (pre-facelift, only half a year). Very nice, very smooth, very fast. The GT500 is faster (his had some option from the factory to up it to 550hp from 500hp) but of course no where near as nicely appointed as

It's easy to find for the most part. I do recall that one time when my family drove from Atlanta to Long Island nonstop (except for fuel, food, rest areas) in our Mercedes Sprinter that we had trouble finding diesel close to the highway in one of the states towards the 3/4 point of the trip. It was a few years ago so

Gentlemen, I present to you the Sbarro Shahin 1000, based on the w116 450SEL 6.9:

Tea Partiers don't seem the type to proclaim "This is a revolution!". They might not be the most agreeable people but let us wait for the facts before we make baseless claims to whether they were Muslim or Christian or Republican or Democrat.
