Good to know, thanks. I had no idea it was a home workout tool. I assumed it was hooked up to gym ceilings and whatnot.
What, no punching and speed bag? I kid....this is taking up a corner of my exercise room and I should probably unload it. My intent was to use it for cardio workouts but its just not happening.
Also, did you build or buy the plyo boxes?
What's the story with TRX? I've never tried, just seen it advertised at certain gyms.
This site has very basic, straightforward info. But it may be a little too open ended.
I agree. It's also like having a training partner, ha. Can help with lighting a darker space. Tons of benefits.
A few items that wouldn't make the cut in an initial budget setup but ones I recommend: Push up power stands & a power tower
More notes -
Adjustable dumbbells make it difficult to do a lot of moves, with that bar hanging out there. If you don't mind taking up extra space and spending a little more, buy DB in multiples of 10 - 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.
Sort of related question - google maps - how do you stop navigation without touching your phone?
Depending on frequency (and, more importantly, on your goals), it makes a significant impact. Anything over a few dozen calories will take your body out of the fasting mechanism. It's like starting from scratch. This only matters if you're goal is the leangains approach (get super, super ripped) or life extension…
The cocoa I use is nutiva cacoa, so it lacks the sweetness of hersheys. Another variation is coconut oil + walnuts + peanut butter.
I love putting coconut oil in my oatmeal along with cocoa powder and some maple syrup.
You'd be surprised. If the window is strict, then you're not snacking late at night. It's possible some of the people posting about how they already stop eating at 7 or 8 pm are discounting a cookie here and there or a beer or a glass of milk. When you stop, you stop. Nothing except water.
Wow, that big a change from just dropping eggs & dairy? Nice! I'm currently reading Whole from T Colin Campbell, who advocates the WFPB diet. I'm a vegetarian but I frequently think about making the switch.
I expected to to be cranky, but it never happened.
I don't think it matters, as long as you have a strict window where you're not digesting anything. Skipping breakfast is easier for most people. I can easily make it until noon without eating. I doubt I could last from 4pm until bedtime without eating.
There is plenty of science out there. The fasting inherent with Ramadan provides an opportunity to study this type of diet. Caloric restriction research is also related to fasting.
Also, I wasn't using this for weight loss, but it definitely can be used as one strategy. It's easy to cut out calories when the meals are crammed into an 8 hour window.
