I was thinking about this last week. I thought it would be a great feature on Alexa. I use mine to control the lights in the house, and am usually last to bed. I say, “Alexa turn off the lights at a soft tone and she screams back “OK!!!” waking up the Mrs.

Yep. For me it is the kids. They use it extensively. If it was just me I might do the “subscribe for a month now and then” sort of thing.

$14 is still a LOT less than the $140 a month for basic cable TV. We have Amazon too, but we easily use enough Netflix to make it worth the $$$.

Here’s the issue. Why bother? I have tried nearly all of these and my experience has been to ask myself, “what am I really getting?” For example, I currently get Comcast package that includes Internet (50Mb), local HD stations, and HBO for around $80 month. I also have Hulu and Netflix, so we will round it up to $100.
