This is a factual matter: their situations were not only different but not comparable. A difference of opinion would be arguing about whether we’d rather be the woman in the AH video, the women being talked about in the video, the women harmed by weinstein, or Billy Bush.

Maybe after you put in the time and reading sufficient to see the difference between those women’s situation and Billy Bush’s.

You really just made that comparison feeling like the Protector of Reason and Discourse, huh? Anyone with the slightest character wouldn’t have needed to say one single word. Just looking at him with disgust or surprise would be an improvement. Stop acting like we are setting an impossibly high bar and just be honest

“On a personal note, this last year has been an odyssey, the likes of which I hope to never face again: anger, anxiety, betrayal, humiliation, many selfish but, I hope, understandable emotions. But these have given way to light, both spiritual and intellectual. It’s been fortifying.”

People aren’t cars. Men who go into meetings don’t have to take these precautions. STOP.

When the answer to a scourge of sexual predators is that people have to go out of their way to avoid predators, that dodges the problem and ensures that a less handsy world is some unattainable utopia. That’s why we push back against this suggestion, not because of groupthink. Stop, please and thanks.

The more you say something, the more it becomes part of your vocabulary. There are no situations in my entire life when I want any version of that word to come out of my mouth, so I avoid it. Even when I’m alone. This isn’t so I can be proud of myself, it’s so my brain has no easy breezy relationship with that word.

If it’s really really really not possible to just take a breath on those 2 syllables, and you’re not in a situation where you could be misheard, say “Tigga”. Feels close enough, means nothing, hurts no one.

This is exactly how that cabin at the end of Blair Witch Project looks in the Yuletide season, I know it. Okay, they forgot the teeth, but they’re not good at things!

No because this would be cool.

Damn! Hang in there! I hope it’s not unhelpful to say that I’m sure this administration has cost more than one person’s sobriety. :(

If you’re on a budget, sheet masks are amazing and such a good excuse to just lay around for 20-30 minutes. I’m almost mad about all the years I squandered NOT using them.

I mean, she is killing this whole discovering how much feelings suck storyline, but everyone on this show is pulling their weight. Consider how much of her performance depends on responding to/contrasting with her castmates.

I think it’s always been used at a plot point, but what changed in recent(ish) years is that it’s shown onscreen way way way more often.

That’s...not better? They’re going to awaken to the fact that they’ve said and done things they did not want to do, and only a trash person would do that to someone else. It always seemed gross that the twins sold them.

Here. Here’s a real example. You are defending rapists whether you mean to be or not. Learning more about someone graudally is just life. Pretending to be someone else because you KNOW the other person does not want sex with YOU is. Rape. Every time. STOP.

Unfortunately for your ethos, you’ve already judged the woman (a reporter) incapable of reading a situation at best, and a liar at worst.

I can’t believe how long this thread got before somebody made this point. I was wondering if it was just so obvious that no one felt the need, but some of these responses are clearly from people who need things like this clearly pointed out. Thanks.

Ezra Klein is completely wrong because the last year has shown that there’s absolutely no danger to this piece of shit. If anyone needs me, I’ll be binge drinking for the forseeable future.

I hope it keeps getting better <3
