Exactly. Very few posts here are critiquing the org. It’s mostly fretting about banning porn (not real, or likely) or how bad it is to make people who enjoy porn feel bad, which is more than a little bit tasteless in this specific context.

First off, saying porn made her experience worse isn’t blaming porn. If we pretend for a moment that it is, you’re still wrong because Columbine survivors never recounted the shooters forcing everyone to watch them play a first-person shooter, and then recreating the shooting from the game.

It’s 100% possible to hold her captor responsible while also taking her word for it that being forced to look at and then recreate porn made an already horrific experience worse.

It’s the same response you get from people who love their guns as soon as someone initiates a conversation about how to make sure people aren't harmed by guns. All they hear is that their guns are about to be taken away.

Did I miss the part where the OP,Elizabeth Smart, or anyone advocated banning porn? As far as I can see, people are trying to start an honest discussion about the actual affects that commonly consumed forms of pornography have on people. Which, clearly, is met with a lot of resistance.
