Plus he even took his own life playing the victim. He really is the poster boy for Disaffected White Male syndrome.

Is it a derailing move to include Charles Stuart? I know he's a little bit out of the category, but I feel like his name and horribleness should not be forgotten.

I guess I'd feel that way too if I believed killers, rapists and kermit gosnell were just born evil, and were irrevocably set on a path of harm. But I don't believe that. On a global level, we have actually prioritized profitability over human life. In the US at least, we reward sociopathic behavior in business

But is it the state's job to try and make up that emotional debt? I find it perverse. If those three women want to kill castro with fishhooks, I would have no problem with that. And I do think the law should look the other way, if it should happen. But since we'll never have laws allowing you to seek vengeance to your

Night, you guys! Look forward to more discussion in the future :D

And in cases like creepshots, where the subject is not aware enough of the situation to register discomfort, the creep is taking pleasure in doing something without the other person's consent.

(Thanks for the heads up, notifications are only for direct replies)
A creep is someone who is aware that they are making someone else uncomfortable and persist in doing so, possibly even enjoying the other person's discomfort.
This reddit campaign was highly creepy, because firstly it was about taking the opportunity

For sure, a large part of the problem is ascribing motives to other people's behavior. I have no business telling YOU why it is you want to look like Tom Hardy. And yet, it's happening all the time. And part of the reason that we feel confident in doing so is that we have learned certain narratives our whole lives.

Same! Lots of credit due to Inperspective for moving the conversation forward rather than being defensive, and you for doing some legwork. I'm just riding this sweet thread's coattails!

I understand. But the way I see it, even the most painful and protracted death would not serve a real purpose. I am not saying any of this to try to change your mind, I just want to keep my own vengeful imagination in check. Change starts at home.

Spreading the Ill Doctrine is its own reward :)

I don't know you, so I have no idea to what degree you're being sincere. But I hope you know that is certainly not how I was trying to characterize you.

I understand where you're coming from but I don't want to live in that society. I don't. Nothing we do to him will give those women those years back, or undo their trauma. It would be comforting to people like us who have a visceral, personal reaction but are also personally disconnected from the crimes, but again,

I agree with all of these. There is no undoing an execution. Even if we could magically erase racism and other bigotry, and make all people actually see each other as equally human, it's always possible for the jury to come to the wrong conclusion. Humans are fallible and always will be, so a permanent action like

I also hate that some people are so thick they'll suggest that because I think abortion should always be legal, I should not be horrified by what happened to Laci Peterson. Because they are literally the exact same thing!

Just so you know, feminism is not seen as a zero-sum game where men are belittled, or punished for all the oppression that has occurred up to this point. You might want to watch Jay Smooth's videos on www.illdoctrine.com . He really gets it, and also has important points about race and the media.

Regarding your earlier

We can only count on the legal system to punish people for breaking laws. A deeper sense of justice has to be found on a case-by-case basis, honestly. Though that might just be easy for me to say, because the thought of this monster dying painlessly on a table would bring me no sense of balance. And I do not want to

Absolutely agreed. I hate that our laws really do default to making the fetus either a person or nothing at all, and ignore the fact that in order to kill a developing fetus, you must do serious harm to the person carrying it.

I agree with you philosophically, but another commenter made the point that without the death penalty, he probably wouldn't be able to plea down and there would probably be a very painful trial for the women who would inevitably be made to testify.

Gosh, that's a good and conflicting point.
