I had the same reaction when they started highlighting the Armenian genocide.

Watson is pretty notoriously at the most egregious end of the shit spectrum. That story is bad, absolutely, and not surprising given other things I’ve read about him....but this shouldn’t stand as a representative anecdote re: what is acceptable in sciences.
We had a creepy teacher - Mr D. -who would do back massages and other creepy stuff. One girl complained about him and the principal told her that if she wanted to file a complaint, she'd have to meet face to face with him (and the principal) and explain this to Mr D. This was expected of a 13-year-old girl. She of…
It honestly sounds like “good advice” from a practical standpoint which is so very depressing.
This is kind of making me want to try bingo now.
If this is a bait, I'm obviously wrong to take it, but this man is very, very large. He may have an excuse.
Well, I mean, I don’t think he has much choice, unfortunately.
Yeah, that’s called an ultimatum, which seems to be what people are getting their panties in a twist about here. I think it’s perfectly fine to be like “I want to get married, I’m giving you x amount of time to decide if you want that too.” If they still can’t make a decision, agreed, leave. People here seem to have a…
This is perhaps the most pregnant sentence I’ve encountered on Jez:
I’m not going to catch any sympathy but here goes: My guy told me a million times he wanted to marry me and we even went ring shopping, got sized, everything. Then nothing, just years of dicking around. So I slowly descended into madness. When I got pregnant, I had a (let’s just say it was hormone-induced) meltdown…
Congrats to you too! I had that the program has been going well!
My hair has changed a few times, particularly after falling out due to illness/medication. When I was a kid my hair was straight, and by puberty it was really curly. I would get relaxers in high school. In college I stopped relaxing it but it was still pretty curly. When I was 22, about 70% of it fell out due to a…
I’m only 24, but from when I was young until about 3 years ago I always had very long, very curly hair. 3 years ago I cut it short for the first time (short being just above my shoulders) and ever since then it is now more wavy than curly; not NEARLY as curly as it used to be. I’m a little sad but it’s also easier to…
I stayed at a hotel Thursday night with my boyfriend and a few cousins, and had to leave early for a Disneyland event on Friday morning. Like we had to be out the door before 4am. So while everyone was getting ready, I volunteered to go to the car to get a couple of necessities we’d left in there. I threw on a sweater…
For a time I was completely agoraphobic. I couldn’t go to the mailbox without having a panic attack. Still, to this day, if I don’t leave house for too long, or i get very anxious or depressed I revert back to my agoraphobic ways and the longer I don’t leave the house the harder it gets.
Violence is seldom the answer.
Because I am tired and feverish, I read the headline, but then in the first paragraph was completely confused because Mark Twain could not possibly have worked at McDonald’s. I should probably go to bed now.
Well... they’re still right. Natural/organic poisons will kill you WAY better than any of your cheap, synthetic manufactured toxins!
Poison is one of my favorite go-to arguments against the nutty “natural/organic is always better than everything and can do no wrong!!!!!!” people. Especially as seeing as most of the truly effective stuff is stuff that’s been made or found from natural ingredients for thousands of years.
Not really a subtweet since she tagged him.
