Gotta give credit to the guy in red - a true believer.

Nice article.

Nice write-up. Well said, totally true about Babe Ruth, and the pictures really do say more than a thousand words. Thanks.

Well said. I used to read him but I kind of got tired of his shtick and moved on. I actually found this story late as it happened a month ago.

Wow, marvelous!

Thank goodness :-)

Are you from West Virginia? I don't think the Ohio River goes up that way, but you must be one of those "hillbilly" fans the story mentions.

Not much else to say here except this...

Here is my Corny Deadspin Commenter Pun That I Hope Gets Lots of Plus 1's.

These are funny and being deaf, it's cool to see someone trying to read lips and type up what they're saying. But always keep in mind - and you'll notice that [obscured] is used a lot for a reason - lip reading is a very difficult thing to do, even for deaf people.

I agree. The "losing its way" syndrome happened on both sides of the aisle. The car companies and the union, too.

They DO still do it, maybe just not springing the goon squad. Look how Walmart treats its employees (-). Then look at how Costco treats theirs (+).

You can be bat shit and nice...or bat shit and mean. His own son died from his wily and mean ways. He sent goons out to beat the shit out of his workers...and so on.

Oh, please. If it wasn't for the unions, children would still be working in factories 16 hours a day making 50 cents an hour. The union brought a sense of fairness to a dirty, smelly laborious job. Do you really think the people running those companies gave a shit about their employees? Should they? Yes, they

It's really too bad. It all started - ever so slowly - after WWII, when America's golden years saw the car companies cranking out 5,000 lb. automobiles with fins on them.

Agreed. The slo mo version on YTV does show he makes contact but it hardly seems like one of Ali's best punches.

Easy solution for me - turn off the closed captions and watch the game. There's a button on the remote. Being deaf and dumb, I think it's called the silence, er, the...whatever it's called. But someone told me that when you press it, all of the noise gets turned off. Try it.

It was a pretty boring game for some reason (at least that's what I thought). I think the "Gawd Bless America" theme was pretty over the top too. The first thing that came to mind was, "What would the Romans think?" Bread and circuses.

Child abuse. Pure and simple.

Why is this even a story? Way back in the mid-70's, there was this Philly kid who was absolutely convinced this wrestling was real. I knew it wasn't - it was just a bunch of guys throwing themselves around.
