I see where you're coming from but the beauty of the hack is that to the drone GPS is working just fine.

What they did was block the control signal than they sent the drone bad GPS info to make it think it was heading back to its home base. The GPS signal is a weak signal so it is easy to just stomp on it with your own stronger signal.
