As I recall, there were some specific problems with the methodology of calculating Rt used by rt.live. Which is to say, and I think should be obvious when you think about it, don’t treat the calculated Rt as the gospel truth. An Rt of 0.9 doesn’t mean the problem is solved, and an Rt of 1.1 doesn’t mean the world (or

“Hur I didn’t call you racist for disagreeing with me, but here is why you’re racist for disagreeing with me”

I don’t think you’re wrong, but I do think that doesn’t matter.

Since he was very recently fired, we’ll have to wait and see, but considering how offensive some of those tweets are, I think his “rehabilitation” will depend on how sincere he actually is with his apology. If we were talking about this a week after James Gunn was fired, you would be making the same argument about

The guy streamed a racist caricature, and you’re de facto defending that as being okay because of a single apology. I didn’t call you a racist (usually when you put something in quotes, you’re implying that’s something they said, but “I’m gonna take a wild guess that you are far too stupid to understand that” though),

Poe’s law, impossible to tell the difference between sarcasm and crazy nutjobs on the internet.

Who has had tweets dug up from 3, 5, 10+ years ago that has been fired/never hired again, successfully?

> You SJWs hurt your own causes.

Slippery slope is not a valid argument. You can easily depict a villain without resorting to lazy, tired and racist stereotypes; the next step is not to remove all villains.

That was kind of Chad, but it’s not exactly right here.

SLIPPERY SLOPE IS NOT A VALID ARGUMENT, STOP MAKING IT.

> What does him being 12 have to do with anything?

> ... and that’s just some of the bigger names that are easier to argue. At a certain point, if you can’t see a systemic problem, with police going free after killing an African American citizen, you’re deciding not to pay attention.

Yeah, “a rising tide lifts all boats” — which, when it comes to protecting human life and dignity, probs a good thing.

First, you’re a waste of time. You clearly don’t actually care about the problem because your comments are not thoughtful considerations, there general points that are not relevant.

What a shitty response.

For sure, I was mostly joking about it, but it is, well, not entirely inaccurate.

Which is more tragic, putting your oxygen mask on first then not having enough time to help someone with theirs, or helping someone with their mask and not having enough time to put on yours? In all honesty, which is the more tragic? Both are pretty tragic.

Even if it does, would you rather be in the situation where you may have unnecessarily contributed to lengthening an economic recession, or in the situation of losing your job, foreclosing on your house, being financially destitute etc. etc. because you didn’t plan for the worst (hope for the best)?
