Damn dude, if you’re that excited by a fourth sequel to one of the lamest trilogies of all time, you need to motivate out of your doldrums and kick-start your life again. I’m a middle aged single dad—I get it—but christ almighty find joy in something active, don’t waste your life being a passive receptacle of whatever

I loved the first movie, thought the second and third ruined the concept by explaining too much and am completely unable to explain why I am so excited about this one.

The Animatrix redeemed the entire universe for me. Every frame of it is a work of art. I think it is the best film in the franchise.

Seems entirely unnecessary and pointless since it retreads so much. Maybe the trailer is purposefully setting everything up to look that way but it really isn’t. I don’t think it is, though.

I always loved this scene too. Chalky was the best character on the show.

“Well, I ain’t buildin’ no bookcase.” So much fucking talent, and Chalky White was the coolest.

Yep. Omar was legendary and much more widely watched, but Chalky was not only equally iconic but brutally realistic. Scorsese pulled no punches, nor did Williams.

“There was a constant dialogue happening when we were stepping into any scene. Should these characters be speaking Chinese Mandarin now or should they be speaking English? What food is on the table? Does that feel authentic to Wenwu’s household? Does that feel authentic to Katie’s family, to a Chinese American

I’m totally an outlier, I know, but I liked Omar and LOVED Chalky. RIP.

I love hearing about all the thought they put into languages & food. It’s great that they portrayed multiple Asian identities. I wish I liked the screenplay more though.

RIP He certainly won’t be building no bookcases up there.

I know this is not where most people know him from but I loved him in Boardwalk Empire.

I heard the news, and yelled “NO!” This is absolutely heartbreaking. He remains one of my favorite actors ever. So much great work, and decades more that he would have given.

Terrible news.. should have had another 30 years.

Hey God, Omar comin’.

This also is likely one of the sticking points to getting the film released in China. It presents a narrative where there are multiple correct ways to exist as someone who is ethnically Chinese.

does he bring acting skills? because we’ve never seen those from him before either

“Get dunc’d on”

Pretty sure it’s “DUNC.”
