Well, that’s one way to keep Marquez from winning yet another Marquez Invitational Austin GP.

Car my Mom drove, this was beautiful. Corinthian leather... CORINTHIAN LEATHER, MATT.
I did a roundtrip between DC and Atlantic City in a Ranger jumpseat as an adult. Sadly, I was NOT skinny then, and I recall the experience being something akin to a Hanoi Hilton stress position. I’m lucky I survived.
Thank you for this excellent point.
Definitely been wanting to try this one, I like the looks far more than the last model. I’m not a gyno-cruiser guy, but I do enjoy the mid-peg “sport cruiser” segment this and the Ducati Diavel occupy.
No, but it’s a common insult levied at H-D because somebody somewhere once had an H-D salesman fifteen years ago call them a pu$$y for looking at the Sportster instead of a Road Glide even though it’s the salesman’s job to also sell the Sportster pleasebringbackBuell.
In theory, their Street model bikes is priced correctly and should bring a lot of younger riders into the brand and like what the Ducati Scrambler did.
It’s the 405... the *asphalt road itself* is faster most days.
For the record, cats love the 981, too. Flat six makes everyone happy!
Can confirm. On my way to driving fun in West Virginia, Virginia is the state I escape... slowly.
Thank you, for decades now I’ve bemoaned this as the most under-remarked, yet worst change in all the Special Editions. It’s awful for all of the reasons you cite. (It’s even worse once you realized that Lucas just reuses Vader’s landing from Return of the Jedi).
Love the front and 3/4 angles, the back is okay, but that profile is all kinds of yeesh. Stood next to one at the DC Auto Show for a good while trying to figure out why it looks sooooo damn butt-heavy from the side for a mid-engined car when something like a Cayman looks sleek.
Better on it than under it.
I admit my childhood ignorance— I never understood what the deal was with Ford selling “Merkur” cars at the same time as they sold Mercuries, but a few minutes of Wikipedia research has now made me an expert.
I, too, am conflicted.
Yes, some of us like me, which is why I bought a used 981 over a Miata— both equally delightful to drive, but I can still get my groceries in the former.
What makes CIA backdoors used against Argentina “better” than Chinese backdoors used against the US?
I know enough about this problem to be dangerous, so I just wanted to say, rarely have I read here in the Jalopnik comments section a more accurate yet detailed explanation of our reality than this one. Thank you for the insightful comment.
Who among us hasn’t
wanted toswilled Jim Beam from a car battery?
I saw a Pacifica at the DC Auto Show with an aftermarket wheelchair package featuring a rear ramp that allowed you to roll the chair right up to the center of the second row seats, flanked by a pair of jumpseats. My first thought was, what a wonderfully comfortable dirtbike hauler!
