If I’m going to be a pussy about it? How about, if I’m going to be a mature responsible law-abiding adult about it. No, the Honda Integra Type R is not substantially similar enough to the North American market Acura Integra Type R. A letter of compliance or substantial similarity must be obtained via manufacturer,

Ummm, tampering with VINs is a felony. Go ahead, I’m sure a 20 year old Honda is worth a felony charge—potential prison time, certain vehicle confiscation and destruction, and thousands of dollars worth of fines.

Look at that! Varying opinions!

Nope. Driven several FD Civics, and though nice, ITR has far better feel.

I could say the same about an ITR.

An ITR would do laps around that Lotus.

The earliest DC2 Integra Type R manufactured were 1996 (labeled as 96 Spec). Finding a 95 is damn near impossible, so just assume 1996 is the earliest you’ll be able to source. 1996+25 years=2021. You won’t be able to import a Honda Integra Type R legally until 2021. (see 25 year classic car exemption rule)

Not in Japan, they don’t. I paid ¥600,000 (less than $6,000 USD) for my 98 Spec Honda and I only $12,000 for my Acura ITR (in 2008). They’re appreciating, but clean drivers are still available for under $15,000.

I let just about everyone I feel is competent drive my vehicles, so long as I’m in the passenger seat. I’ve offered all of my friends multiple opportunities to drive my 1984 Toyota Century. Sure, it’s not worth that much but sourcing parts from Japan is expensive, excruciatingly time consuming, and shipping takes a

Mine seems to have held up fine, but at 55k original miles it’s a survivor. Most E36 M3 were trashed over a decade ago, and E46 are following that trend at a brisk rate.

Especially when you take into account most modern turbo cars—which sound awful. The M4/M3 are the epitome of crappy sounding forced induction engines.

Ugh, that is pretty bad too. Frozen paint—a more expensive way to make your car look wrapped… bro.

Jalopnik’s writing quality is plummeting daily.

I’ll bring it to Cbad Cars & Coffee this saturday starting at 7am sharp at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. Hope to see you there!

Thank you for self-identifying yourself tasteless.

Yes, it’s powered by a 5V-EU engine, a 4.0-liter hemispherical V8 (Toyota totally ripped off Chrysler’s Hemi design.

Other than the unique “Fire Orange” paint (which everyone forgets is not called Lime Rock Orange), the LR M3 was essentially just a Competition Packaged M3... with a $10,000 option (not including dealer markup) for the Lime Rock packaging. Only 200 were made and obviously sold… because BMW fanboy.

Did you really? If so, congratulations!
