I’ve seen her videos and heard her speak via youtube links, she never condemned entire demographics. She pointed out that games tend to treat women in shitty ways. That’s the problem, you were too busy being outraged and offended that you didn’t even pay attention to what she was saying.
I know plenty of so-called feminists who don’t do this stuff and I bet if you’re close to any women, you know some as well.
Feminism, like any set of ideas, requires a bit of nuance to discuss, but god forbid you miss a chance to leave a sassy one-liner.

The fact that Sarkeesian was met with SUCH anger speaks more of the angry than it can ever of her. It’s so sad that we have reached a point where this ridiculous overreaction is not only common but excused.
Nothing she has done is (or even things like cherry picking that she is accused of doing) is worth anywhere near…
But that’s not what Patriarchy means. Patriarchy is a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it. Doesn’t mean every single male subconsciously wants to hold women down, means that men and women alike support a society in which most of the head honchos are men.

Yeah, when I was a teenager in the 90’s I knew about the Beatles, The Doors, Blondie, David Bowie, you name it, AND I also knew about what was going on in the current scene. I thought that people who dismissed earlier music as “old” were losers. Know your roots man, know your fucking roots.
Love how kids think ignorance is cool. It’s not. Cool people are aware of big musical influences from previous decades.

For some men, I think it’s their hatred of women that forces them to accentuate the supposedly gaping schism between the sexes. It’s as though they don’t want to admit that we’re the same fucking species.
The thing that pains me on a deeper level than a lot of this is the viewpoint that men and women are so goddamn different that any relationship will have nails on chalkboard issues inherent. Of course you’re going to have shitty relationships with that attitude.
