That game wouldn't have been nearly as fun without it's hilarious writing and characters. The battles are merely a means to an end, once you level up enough you literally avoid them to save time to get to the boss.

I'm sorry, but playing RPG's for the gameplay alone is the saddest thing I've heard so far this week. RPG's are literal grinding with an occasional interesting boss-battle, and the boss-battles are interesting BECAUSE of their story.
It's got characters you can unlock randomly OR pay for, so it's got a semi-f2p model going.
I don't see anything very 'Final Fantasy Tactics' about it at all.
