It depends on the game, implementation and my mood. One of my favorite ways to play Minecraft is in Hardcore mode, where the monsters are more punishing, you can actually starve to death, and when you die your entire save/world is deleted.

I don't give a flippity-flap about Madden these days, but I was entertained.
