The beta version of Planetary Annihilation was a more complete game than the Alpha. Alpha was very rough and in progress, and honestly really cool to see as long as you keep your expectations in check.

I love having the option to pre-order a game if I'm very excited and want to play it on day one (I rarely go to a physical store anymore, digital download or physical copy from Amazon).
