I concur. The judgement demo (which is available on JPN PSN stores) made me go from skeptical to GOTY. It’s easy to get into, the world is vast and compelling with things to do, and most importantly it feels like it’s pushing the series forward. Give it a go and maybe you’ll see what I see.

And there is your uninformed problem. Those are a tech demo (Platinum) and a demo that was cut from pre-alpha gameplay. The NEW demo, the one you clearly haven’t play runs perfectly fine.
