Why is the DLC “maligned”? Did it get bad reviews?

I think the unlockable squads just suck honestly. At least in FTL, most of the unlockable ships were still good in some way. Some of them were quirky and different, but still effective. I guess that was mostly because you could change their loadout though I guess. You can do that here too, but it takes some lucky…

I’m right with you there, the other squads are just too gimmicky for me. I’ve beat the game on hard with the Rift Walkers (after 4 islands), but I can’t really get anywhere with the others I’ve unlocked.

Yeah I guess she’s a support. I didn’t bother looking it up, it’s just that in the video she’s like “get behind my shield!”
