Because NY State had to keep tax rates for rich folks high. This isn't the MTA's choice. I'm sick of this fucking dumbassery. NY State asshole politicians slash funding, which then needs higher fares, then turn around and rage at the MTA for daring to raise fares. Then the dumbass voting public repeats the politician

I miss Bob Varsha. :( Just watched some early 1990s F1 ESPN races. Him and Hobbs are so awesome as a team (and even more awesome with Matchett).

Florida's governor oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in history and got no jail time. How the hell does Florida elect that asshole?

King is a douche, and his response if you dare ask why he can't stop writing about how awesome Favre and Goodell are is that you're making it up.

Nobody likes A-Rod, but I feel guys like Miguel Cabrera (drunk, wife-beater) are getting a bit of a pass.

+1. Also, +1000 for the idiots who didn't get your joke.

Standard taxi stands to make replacement parts easy and accessible for the fleets. That being said, NYC chose by far the shittiest of the 3 choices for the city cab with the Nissan. I can't believe the choice was made without some greasing of politicians.

Wow. Way to go for the strawman and put words in my mouth. Gun nut fantasizes about being vigilante. News at 11.

Yes, the rapist will totally stop and wait for you to get your gun out. And the robber, too. Have fun with those John Wayne fantasies.

The folks in Afghanistan and Iraq had plenty of smuggled military grade weapons courtesy of our we-don't-give-a-shit gun manufacturers and old soviet ammo. If the US gubment wanted you dead, you and your tinfoil Wolverines would be dead, it's as easy as that.

You really are dense. Really? When the Constitution was written, guns were...you know, slow as fuck to load and fire. There was this whole thing with maybe the British trying to invade, conflict with Native Americans. You know, every day stuff. Also, you're not buying an AK-47 to defend yourself, you're buying it to

Really? A fucking shootout in this school would've been better? Your logic is unassailable.

Nissan greased politicians, so their design (the worst of the bunch) wins. Easy peasy.

With or without a bottle of Jack Daniels? I'll pass on having a drunken wife-beater (funny how everyone forgot that) on the cover of a baseball game.

It will be a huge help. But for the money and time spent, 3 bloody stations is a joke, especially with most of the tunneling north of 96 St being done decades ago. As there are minorities north of 96 St, funding to complete the segment to 125 St wasn't provided. In the end, it's essentially a personal subway extension

The stop at 10 Ave got cut. Not even a station shell, which is fucking awful. Now if they ever want to add a station, they'll have to A) induce shutdowns on the new extension B) spend more money than it would've cost to build it initially. Idiocy at its finest: let's not spend the money now so we can spend even more

You're joking, yes? The 7 extension needed the 10 Ave station to help develop the area. They didn't even build a station shell. The second avenue stub, while important, is 3 new stations. It could've gone to 125 St (as much of the cut-and-cover tunneling was done in the 70s north of 96 St), but shitty NY state

They're also starving their people funding this bullshit.

LOL at people who think NYC is doing wonders here. They ran out of money and couldn't finance a critically important station at 10 Ave/41 St. Overall, this magic extension adds one station at what is now going to be a defunct convention center. The Second Avenue Subway is an even bigger joke.

T-Mobile doesn't have to raise rates because it won't be subsidizing phones. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T have to spend assloads of money on iPhones, hence the higher rates. With T-Mobile, you're buying the phone full price (all at once, or installments), so no financial hit on them.
