Again, the backlight need to be more powerful for that many pixels. That's a transistor each, and they only pass through so much light. With a battery that small, a more powerful LED backlight would make battery life on this phone ass.

It's based on overall quality. I love OLED technology, but it's still not there yet in terms of longevity of blue diodes and overall energy efficiency. That's why the screen on the GS3 is a steamy pile of poop. Useless in direct sunlight, awful color accuracy, pentileRGB sub-pixel arrangement, and a bad color temp.…

I know, which is why I actually gave props to Republicans for doing such an unbelievably good job of it after 2010. I'm giving credit where it's due; they did their homework. They lost overall popular vote in the house but still got to keep a gigantic majority in the House.

You want that brightness in outdoor use. As most people using a Galaxy S 3 will tell you, that shit becomes useless on a sunny day (only because OLED technology, while being the future, is still too power hungry for certain colors and thus needs a compromise of lower max brightness).

The DisplayMate guy did a post once about how 470-480 PPI or so was really a more accurate "retina" resolution for displays held at a certain distance. The higher the PPI, the closer in you get before you notice the pixels.

That's a lot of pixels (transistors) for the LED backlight to get light to. It needs a brighter backlight, but that would add even more battery drain to this device. A "RAZR MAXX" type version with a 3000+ mAh battery and a more powerful backlight (along with better calibration) would be nice.
