Donald Trump is the the Kim Kardashian of the political world. Everyone waits breathlessly for the mindless random crap he blurts out.

That’s good to hear. As long as you are having fun with it, it doesn’t matter what I think.

These two cars look so similar but are soooo diferent. Starting with the fact that you have a flathead and have actually painted the car. Your car shows a personal pride and style. Plus you said the key think, you have fun driving it.

I’m no CPA and can easily mis-interpret this but there’s a lot of accounting stuff in there beyond the cost of the cars. What I see are generally positive figures. If you want to cite a complete 10-Q as a source, fine. But I can’t find anything that says a loss of $5K/vehicle. So since you posted it, you must have

You’ve articulated what I was thinking better than I did. The goal is progress, not just awareness

Absolutely. I don’t shit on any old post. It has to meet certain standards. Creating a shit-on worthy post was a major accomplishment for them.

Sorry, I know you have to keep the stories coming but did they do anything else for the good cause other than lay down a track in the shape of a ribbon. I mean, did they raise money or anything? Because if that’s all they did:

Soooo. What are they going to do with all the cops who will be on duty under the influence after they have their doughnut and coffee?

The big deal is forcing people to surrender what is essentially private information to get a job. Sure you can say that it’s their choice to not take the job, but it’s not just taxi drivers. There are a lot of jobs that require it by law.

Sure VW acted in bad faith and is paying dearly for it, as they should. No one bombed a VW factory or killed an engineer. They took VW to court.

Everyone makes this out to be a big deal. It’s really just a demonstrator for dog and pony shows. The real benefits will come from undersatnding the durability and the lessons learned from building it.

These folks stripping their cars didn’t learn from VW what being greedy and using loopholes will get you. Other than being the little guy vs the large corporation, they are no better than VW. I guess they deserve each other.

My second car was a ‘73 Celica which I painted a metalic Corvette grey. In typical Toyota fashion, it was mechanically second rate to a 240Z. But for a poor college student it was a fun little car. Plus there was something about the lines of that car that were spot on.

Few people seem to realize that they are watching the birth of the next industrial revolution. The first country to make this reliable and cost effective will own the industry for at least a decade.

I went to high school in a small town in upstate NY back when “decriminalization” was the buzzword. Cars were just mobile party joints for us back then. Near the end of high school I moved down South to a hot rod town. Left the stoners behind to hang out with the rednecks and become a gearhead, the distant ancestors

Sure but you’ve got to pick the right actor to lead a campaign. They passed over the best actor who’s already known for The Continental.

That’s the sad future of our government. If it sounds good and claims to bring jobs, it will be beautiful. Data, facts, and analysis just get in the way of a pretty picture. People who try to do that will get fired.
