While I will buy the physical abuse if it’s on tape, there is no way one can argue that going on any sort of reality/competition tv show and getting roundly criticized and mocked was not a predictable outcome with 50% likelihood - you shouldn’t have brought your kid if watching you be criticized was not something you

He can’t. But even first thing in the morning after sleeping like the dead on a fancy Mar-a-Lago bed, he can barely comprehend corn flakes - let alone policy implications.

You don’t say? No one is questioning the estate’s legal position, just its moral one.

A. Why can’t you? Theater and Hollywood have a long and as yet unending tradition of having white actors play people of color.

Let’s hope it actually proves presidency-ruining.

Yep. And if Trump magically gets impeached, Pence will clearly try to paint himself as the incorruptible one for 2020. If the Democrats have any sense of strategic planning (of which I am unconvinced), they are already figuring out how to tie him to this in the court of public opinion.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s that people want to have these deep dives into the intricacies of Kardashian lives. I think it’s that people recognize them for who they are: money grubbers who care about their immediate families, but about very little else. Watching them be insane and inane for money is a guilty pleasure.

I’m gonna start that this guy is an asshole, and maybe I’m stereotyping bc it happens to be a sci-fi/fantasy type movie he’s suing over, but I don’t this he’s “controlling” or exactly creepy. I also might be biased due to working in a STEM field where many are on the wrong side of the awkward personality bell curve

I certainly believe everyone can write about whatever and whomever they want. However, I think it is a poor moral decision to reinforce harmful stereotypes about any group - and silly to think you can do much else if you have limited exposure to said group and rely upon stereotypes as the basis for your writing.

FWIW, all of the daughters are adults. Two were in high school when the show premiered. Also, his wife always worked. She was a geologist or geophysicist or something (with a PhD, I think), was laid off, became a public school teacher, then started a tutoring business. I don’t think he ever did any “caring for them”

I am quickly starting to feel like we’d all be better off without Facebook live.

I also wonder if he thought he could survive this given the crowd around to assist, and if he was planning to try to use either his injury or his “show of devotion” to try to continue controlling her.

I don’t know what Cooper would have done, but I would have rolled my eyes, snickered, and thrown my hands in the air at her or any other person lying so egregiously to my face. I know bc I do it at legislative hearings on my state - with both male and female Reps.

To some extent, I wonder if this reflects that some of us are skipping rentals all together in cities where Uber/Lyft are good/cheap and/or parking is pricey. And all they’re left with are renters who don’t care that it will cost almost the price of the rental to refill the gas tank and/or who are traveling in big

Right? I’m pretty sure if I cruise down Main Street at 106 MPH because I forgot I wasn’t on the Autobahn and a bunch of people die when I lose control coming ‘round the bend, this sort of defense will help me in zero ways. When you drive a vehicle nearly double the speed limit - especially knowing there were people

I hear you in principle. From a practical standpoint, I think this often falls under the “you gotta draw a line somewhere” heading.

Thank you a million times.

I agree with all of this. I also feel strongly that we (voters) need to engage more with our political parties and/or be very deliberate about how we vote. I recently heard a state politician who is also (I think) in leadership in our state party say that her job is to help incumbents secure re-election. A. I don’t

Seriously. More than any other possible concern, I keep wondering: where did the mattresses come from? How does one end up with more than one blood-stained mattress? Why weren’t they discarded immediately after the blood-staining happened? I assume these were never personally owned by anyone - why would you not

Wasilla needs to get real busy electing someone reasonably not an idiot, lest the rest of the country think Sarah P. and this guy are the best they’ve got.
