I certainly believe everyone can write about whatever and whomever they want. However, I think it is a poor moral decision to reinforce harmful stereotypes about any group - and silly to think you can do much else if you have limited exposure to said group and rely upon stereotypes as the basis for your writing.

FWIW, all of the daughters are adults. Two were in high school when the show premiered. Also, his wife always worked.
