It matters to me because it gives the other side ammo. If you stand by people you agree with just making shit up about your opponents, it proves you don’t really care about the truth or even the thing you’re angry at your opponent for - you’re just here to talk shit and feel good about yourself. Which I have no doubt

I completely agree, but I constantly see people childishly dismissing libertarians and one of the methods is constantly worrying about people voting for Johnson over Clinton or Trump. Everybody here wants Hillary to win, they probably think third parties are a wasted vote as goes the mantra so they should be thanking

That was an unquestionably prejudicial remark, but he did NOT say ‘All Mexicans are rapists’. He didn’t even say ‘Most Mexicans are rapists’, he did say something like, ‘Most illegal immigrants from Mexico are criminals, including rapists’ which is certainly a prejudicial statement, but it is not ‘All Mexicans are

Fact: He didn’t say either of those things. He said things that weren’t quite those things that Kusabi then exaggerated because he needed them, for some reason, to sound even more ridiculous.

More or less, why not.

I agree with a lot of the Trump bashing around here. But when I see someone post something that’s simply just a lie that I figure probably won’t be challenged, I feel the desire to jump in and correct it because I don’t feel like the opposition to Trump needs to be couched in exaggerations. If I ignored it, it sort of

Sure, and him choosing to try to salvage the situation and tell them that people shouldn’t judge his company for his personal opinions is ALSO the free market. The point is to leave morality in the hands of the people and not legislate it. No one’s legislating anything, they just have different opinions, so that’s

Are you someone who thinks the definition of a ‘troll’ is to disagree with the prevailing opinion? Because I don’t see how you can’t be if you think what I said is anywhere close to trolling. I emphatically do not like Trump, I most certainly don’t agree with the positions the previous guy exaggerated those statements

I’m one of the few people in here not trolling, evidently. Such is the nature of the echo chamber.

It depends on the Libertarian. I know this is a bit tough to believe, but most of them are just people like you and came to share those beliefs because they thought they were alright. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you on politics doesn’t make them an asshole. I’m a Libertarian, most may say I’m a

Libertarianism is about getting government out of business, not moral judgements. The point is to leave those judgements to the market. It’s not hypocritical to be opposed to a business decision you don’t like, unless you’re opposing said business decision by asking the government to stop it from happening.

I’m pretty sure what you meant to say is that they’re ALSO horrified about the group he donated to. I’m sure the reaction on these sites would more or less be exactly the same if he just donated to some random Trump PAC.

That was a pretty dumb thing for him to say. Still not enough to make me vote for Hillary or Trump over him, though. He at least admitted he thought climate change with man made, though, earlier in the video so that’s something.

Depends on the state, actually. Some states have open primaries and you don’t have to be registered with the party to vote in them.

Shouldn’t you guys be happy? People were horrified that he was supporting Trump but he’s ‘throwing his vote away’ by voting third party, so now you don’t have to worry about it.

Unfortunately they can’t post this stuff on Gawker anymore, so they’re just posting it to the other sites. I’m wondering if maybe it was actually better to have Gawker around so that the shit would stay in the toilet instead of getting sprayed all over the stall.

Look, I’d never vote for Trump in a million years but he has actually never claimed either one of those things. Trump’s positions are ridiculous enough without having to lie by exaggerating them.

Wait, really?

Unfortunately the approach to educate is usually that of an educator, by which I mean it’s condescending and patronizing. That’s rarely going to change someone’s mind, it’s going to get them angry. So long as people on both sides start these conversations by screaming at the other side or treating them like

You’re as much a part of the problem here as the people being really obnoxious to this woman. Any disagreement, any criticism, and you’re the enemy. You’re trying really hard to make this about how I’m the evil jackass belittling the opinion of women even though I’ve said nothing of the sort, you assume any dissent
